Water Home at Heron Lakes

The client was downsizing from the mountains and looking for a contemporary home and a solid community to age in place. There is no better location than on the water at Berthoud’s Heron Lakes, where family and grandchildren can spend time together.

The client has always been an artist at heart, yet they have always had to share space between painting and pottery throughout the years, two very different disciplines. When designing their new home, they decided to have dedicated studios for both disciplines and all the supplies that came with each. Painting is refined and precise, while pottery is messy, raw, and creative.

The low-maintenance exterior features heat-modified wood siding with locally quarried stone & metal siding to match the standing seam metal roof. At the interior white oak flooring & window sills compliment the Ital doors from Italy, Domadeco front door and Milarc cabinets throughout. Contemporary details with slick wall finishes, extensive steel detailing, and a heated four seasons room that invites you to hang out year-round.

This Fort Collins area home is Energy Star certified with a 51 HERS score.
