This home was inspired by the clients’ love of the Southwest and adobe architecture, but was designed using a modern interpretation that is fun, sustainable, and unique.
Polished concrete floors are easy to care for and keep the house cooler in summer, while the in-floor radiant heat warms them during the winter months.
Natural wood accents in the home include custom timberwork, reclaimed wood from a Wyoming snow fence on the great room ceiling, and a barn door made from wood salvaged from the owner’s childhood home. In contrast with the wood are the adobe bricks made in Southwest Colorado that surround the wood-burning fireplace, as well as custom steelwork and metal-clad windows for a modern touch.
