MODERN ADOBE HOME

A touch of Southwest living

This home was inspired by the client’s love of the Southwest and Adobe architecture but was designed using a modern interpretation that is fun, sustainable, and unique.
Polished concrete floors are easy to care for and keep the house cooler in summer, while the in-floor radiant heat warms them during winter.
Natural wood accents in the home include:
  • Custom timberwork
  • Reclaimed wood from a Wyoming snow fence on the great room ceiling
  • The barn door is made from wood salvaged from the owner’s childhood home
In contrast with the wood are the adobe bricks made in Southwest Colorado that surround the wood-burning fireplace, as well as custom steelwork and metal-clad windows for a modern touch.
A modern adobe home in the Fort Collins area adds to the area’s diversity of architecture.
